Picture emerges of Ledger's last hours

THE woman who found Heath Ledger's body called his friend, the actress Mary-Kate Olsen, twice on his mobile phone before calling the emergency number 911, according to a New York police reconstruction of the events surrounding his death.

Police said Diana Wolozin had begun setting up a massage table before realising the actor was not responding, and knowing Olsen to be a friend of his, called seeking guidance. She called a second time before realising how grave his situation was.

Ledger had been snoring around 1pm when a housekeeper, Teresa Solomon, arrived at the apartment, she told police. Ms Solomon went into Ledger's bedroom to change a light bulb in an adjacent bathroom and saw him face down on the bed. Ms Wolozin, who said she had arrived at 2.45 and called the actor on his mobile phone about 3pm when he did not emerge from his bedroom, called 911 at 3.26pm to say that Ledger was not breathing.
